Steven Richardson is a dedicated transport professional whose passion for trucks began in childhood, growing up in a family where both his father and grandfather worked as drivers. Following his schooling, Steven completed a diesel mechanic apprenticeship, developing a strong understanding of vehicle maintenance, mechanical reliability and safety before obtaining his MC licence and progressing to operate B-Doubles and tippers. His mechanical background provides him with valuable practical knowledge that complements his driving career and contributes to his reputation as a highly skilled and safety-conscious operator. Steven enjoys the independence and variety that life on the road provides and takes considerable pride in maintaining his equipment to a consistently high standard.
Despite the demands of long periods away from home, Steven works hard to balance his professional commitments with family life, recognising the importance of maintaining both physical wellbeing and personal connections. He is passionate about improving public awareness of heavy vehicle operations and believes greater education for motorists would enhance safety outcomes across Australian roads. His proactive approach to safety includes ensuring equipment is properly maintained, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and maintaining awareness of everyone working around his vehicle. Outside of transport, Steven enjoys truck shows, motorsport and fishing, reflecting his lifelong enthusiasm for machinery and the outdoors. Known for his professionalism, mechanical expertise and strong work ethic, he continues to build a respected career within the industry.
