Mark Carmichael

2018

Mark Carmichael is a highly regarded livestock transport operator whose strong rural upbringing and genuine passion for agriculture have shaped his successful career in transport. Originally trained as an electrician, Mark ultimately found his true calling behind the wheel, joining the family business and building a reputation for professionalism, reliability and a deep commitment to animal welfare. Growing up on a property in Western New South Wales, he developed an instinctive understanding of livestock behaviour through years spent working on farms, mustering cattle, improving infrastructure and contributing to all aspects of agricultural life. This practical experience has become one of his greatest strengths as a livestock operator, allowing him to handle animals calmly, safely and effectively.

Mark strongly believes in working with livestock rather than against them, applying low-stress handling principles that prioritise animal welfare throughout every stage of transport. His work has also fuelled a passion for exploring Australia’s rural landscapes, leading to a love of camping and four-wheel driving. Safety remains a key focus of his career, and he is a vocal advocate for greater heavy vehicle awareness among motorists, believing early driver education should include a better understanding of how trucks operate. Respected for his practical knowledge, professionalism and commitment to both agriculture and transport, Mark continues to make a valuable contribution to the livestock industry and the rural communities it supports.
