Joe Sepos is one of the most influential and respected figures in Australia’s livestock and rural transport industry, building what began as a single-truck operation in the 1970s into the highly successful JS Transport Group. Through vision, determination and an unwavering commitment to excellence, Joe established a business that has grown to encompass more than 100 prime movers and 250 trailers operating across New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia and Tasmania. Under his leadership, the business expanded beyond transport into livestock, grain and poultry logistics, as well as agricultural enterprises including beef cattle properties, a free-range egg farm, a Western Star truck dealership and a golf course. Today, JS Transport Group plays a critical role in Australia’s food supply chain, transporting hundreds of livestock loads and thousands of tonnes of grain every day while employing almost 300 people across a wide range of roles.
Throughout his career, Joe has remained committed to innovation, safety and the development of strong teams, recognising that people are the foundation of any successful business. Advanced logistics and scheduling systems, a focus on operational efficiency and the values embodied in the “JS Way” have helped establish the business as an industry leader. Beyond his own enterprise, Joe has made a significant contribution to industry representation through his long-standing involvement with the LBRCA, including serving as President from 1998 to 2000 and remaining an active supporter ever since. His dedication to improving industry standards, fostering collaboration and supporting future generations has left an enduring legacy. Joe Sepos’ story is one of entrepreneurship, resilience and service, and his contribution continues to shape both the transport industry and the communities it supports.
