Noel Hoare was one of the transport industry’s most respected advocates, earning admiration for his unwavering commitment to transport operators, rural communities and strong industry representation. Throughout his involvement with the LBRCA, Noel worked tirelessly to ensure the voices of livestock and rural carriers were heard, particularly those operating in regional and remote Australia. He was a passionate supporter of practical reforms that improved outcomes for operators and was instrumental in advocating for additional heavy vehicle rest areas long before driver wellbeing became a major industry focus.
A champion of productivity and efficiency, Noel also played an important role in supporting the use of 40-foot trailers within early B-Double combinations, helping improve freight efficiency across the sector. While his industry achievements were significant, he was equally respected for his loyalty to family, his support of colleagues and his steady guidance during challenging times. Known as a gifted storyteller with a wonderful sense of humour, Noel had an extraordinary ability to bring people together. His Life Membership reflects not only his substantial contribution to the transport industry but also the character, generosity and leadership that continue to inspire those who follow in his footsteps.
